It happens everytime, and with any sort of video files. It is NOT restricted to, say, mp4 or mov files, every file extension is concerned.
I have made a small test and can bring some precision:
If I stay within the same folder, I can click on an image to have its preview, and ...

Hello there.
I have made a quick search but could not find a solution to my problem. Here it is:
I use XnView MP 0.93.1 on Win 10 64 Home.
When I watch a video, I am able to navigate with the cursor.
But if I select another video from the same folder, the cursor is useless: I can watch the video ...

Re: XnView freezes when browsing folder containing .mp4 file
Interesting. xnView stable now than QuickTime is uninstalled.
How did you know it had something to do with QuickTime ?
I'll try to re-install is right now.
EDIT: Indeed !
Completely uninstalled and re-installed QuickTime and all is fine now.

Re: XnView freezes when browsing folder containing .mp4 file
Hard to tell: when i open QuickTime's control panel and press "about", it says QuickTime version 0,0 (!)
It is a 32 bits version, and it's not QuickTime Pro.
EDIT : CCleaner tells me it is version 7.71.80.42
But there's an interesting element: there are 6 tabs there, and when i open the "audio ...

Re: XnView freezes when browsing folder containing .mp4 file
OK, here is a file that freezes my xnView:
http://glp.lescigales.org/divers/essai.mp4
It's a short extract recorded via VLC as mp4.
When that thing is in a folder, browsing the folder with thumbnails crashes XnView. Browsing without thumbnails, but with icons is OK.

Re: XnView freezes when browsing folder containing .mp4 file
What do you mean with sending you a sample ?
You mean an mp4 file that causes the trouble ?
I've got to find one which size is smaller than 100's of Mo !
I'll come to you later.
About Quicktime: it is installed on my system, yes.

Re: Serious problems win Win7 64 : total crash
OK I found it: there was obviously some seriously corrupt file in the "users/…/AppData/XnView" folder. I've deleted the whole folder and re-installed 1.98.2 with success. Don't know what happened: something must have gone wrong when uninstalling the 1st time…
