Re: EXIF/IPTC/ExifTool/GPS tabs question
Hi. I also vote for showing also empty tabs. Reason: When showing pics on fullscreen with tabs pinned and GPS tab selected, single pic without geotag causes focusing previous tab and it needs to be switched back to GPS tab manually on next pic. For me it would be more convenient to stay on the same ...

Re: Linux - move to trash
No need to restart xorg. Alias should work right away. Anyway you have another working solution so anybody with similar issue can try what suits him better.

Re: Linux - move to trash
Hi pangwolin.
If the gio trash works for you correctly, you can use alias in the meantime.
Put it into your ~/.bashrc file.

Code: Select all

Re: Linux - move to trash
Well, gvfs-trash has been deprecated and is beeing replaced by:
However some conservative distros may still use the former command so it might be worth considering to use both commands in parallel at least for some time.
Thank you for support of Linux, Pierre and have a nice day.

Linux - move to trash
Hello there.
What command is used in XnViewMP to move files to trash under Linux?
I'm asking because after fresh install the trash in XnView stopped working for me. Terminal output has shown nothing noticable.

Enable "Update catalog from files" in view mode
Hi Pierre. I sometimes watch albums with tags edited by other app (Digikam, Irfan View...) but XnViewMP doesn't show updated tags in fullscreen overlay automatically. Function "Update catalog from files" fixes that but it works only in browse mode. It is not very convenient to switch from fullscreen...

v0.51 exif tag "Comment"
Hi. Comment tag seems to be broken in fullscreen overlay info. 1) "Ctrl + D" to open "Set comment" window and fill some text. 2) Check if comment attached succesfully with exiftool -args -Comment pic.jpg 3) In "Settings - View - Info" fill options which seem to be related: "{Comment}{EXIF:XPComment}...

Re: v0.51 - "save as" into hidden directory
Do you also have into: Settings\Browser\File list\Show hidden files and folders "checked" ? That makes no difference. if I open a hidden file ".a.jpg" then "Save as" I have into the window ".a" and I type ".a2" to new name but without .jpg extension, I also have a file ".jpg" only. You found it:-)....

0.51 - "save as" into hidden directory
Hi. Steps to reproduce 1. Open any file: /any_path/file.jpg 2. Try to save as into some hidden directory (dir name beginning with dot): ~/.hidden_dir/another_dir/file_out.jpg Result 3. File is saved without name and in directory level above hidden dir: ~/.jpg Not very serious bug but worth mentionin...

Re: Deleted files cannot be restored from Trash
I can confirm this. Same in Gnome 3. Don't know what about you but in my case the file is renamed by the XnView MP when deleted (Example: DSC05171.JPG --> DSC05171_130413-101116.JPG) so system cannot determine former location. For the time beeing it can be restored manually in terminal: cp trash:///...

Re: Idea - Mapbrowser mode
Thanks for suggestion. I was using Digikam few years ago but in those days it probably wasn't implemented yet. I'll check it. Now it is four of us. Still too few. Re: v0.51 crc32 checksum fail
It is... Have you tried both 32 bit or 64 bit version? What crc32 checksums are you getting? Setup in english: Initial settings, select dir, open dialog and select Method. Nothing else. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/30333870/XnMP/Setup1.png https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/30333870/XnMP/Set...
