The lossless crop does save the incorrectly cropped image as a jpeg directly.
The uncropped image that I tried to use ctrl-x to crop, can be saved as a jpeg.
The incorrect crops happen with any image, not just a newly created one.

Can nconvert re-create XnSketch output?
I would think so, but I am not sure how to accomplish this. For example, XnSketch has a template "Neon". What parameters might I use in nconvert to recreate the same output?
Further, it would be nice if there was a way to export the parameters from the various Xn* programs as options to pass to ...

Re: getting error with lossless crop
I can crop it if I reopen the image.
Sorry for the late reply, I'm not receiving notifications for some reason, though all the settings in my profile seem to say that I should. Odd.

Seemingly randomly, I keep getting the error "an error occurs, maybe original file is READ only" on the second or third consecutive file that I do a lossless crop on.
For instance, I have any number of files in a folder, open one, make a selection and do a lossless crop on it, then proceed to the ...

NGtopo .tpq conversion
I'd be very interested being able to convert .tpq file format from National Geographic topo program. Is there any possibility of implementing this? There is a bit of a description of the file layout here: http://cholla.mmto.org/gtopo/reference/ ... ayout.html.

cannot view mrsid
I'm not sure if I even want to, considering how long it takes to open a smaller .sid, but whenever I try to a open a MrSid of 190MB, I get the error format of file could not be determined.
So:
small MrSid (8MB) opens, but takes a long time, 55 seconds. Also it uses 169MB of memory according to the ...
