When you hover over the thumbnails, icons for rating and tagging gets displayed. This is a great feature. However I realised that this feature only works if in xnview.ini "RecentFiles=" contains a couple of entries. (At least 5 or 6). If there are no entries or set to "invalid", the hover icons ...

The db.journal is created by DB engine, so it's normal.
You can reproduce it always? When you enter something in quick search, xnviewmp stop thumbnail creation, perhaps there is a big file in process??
Nah I don´t think when I launch xnviemp it should sit there for 5 minutes doing nothing. At ...

While all thumbnails are getting recreated also it is happening again what I have reported before: The database size grows. To make it clear: All thumbnails had been already created all files had been indexed already.
Through some bug XnvieMP drops all thumbnails, the database size remains the same ...

Into the browser mode, the ruler at the top right.

Maybe you have changed the thumbnails size before ( the cursor or via the View menu) ? your are under Windows, which OS ?

To keep time, you can normally use : "Add Folder" under - Settings\Cache DB\Thumbnails.

How can I change the thumbnail size by "cursor"? I certainly did not change it ...

I second that. If xnview will continue, then xnviewmp should have its own namespace.

I had it several times now that I closed XnviewMP and the windows disappeared but the xnview process was stuck in the task manager. I had to manually kill the process there to get rid of it.

There are times when Xnviemp is doing SOMETHING but there is no information at all what it is doing?

The database and the thumbnailing issue remains a huge miracle to me.
I have reported already the issue that sometimes XnviewMP loses all created and stored thumbnails from a completely thumbnailed folder and starts to recreate them one by one. It is obvious by loading times that it is recreating ...

Can we have a search that finds same or similiar files based on the stored thumbnail? Meaning that it compares the displaying content of the thumbnail image and not the file. This could help to find duplicate or near duplicate files other than images.
