Re: MP 0.61 - Rating & Colour label
I can confirm that ratings are lost. I tested this on a folder with 237 and another with 14 JPGs. When I select another folder and return to the former all ratings are gone. I optimized the database (all settings checked). Randomly when I reopen the application it immediatly crashes when it loads ...

Re: 0.51: Special chars in IPTC Keywords under Windows/Ubunt
I posted my problem on the ExifTool forum (which is back online obviously).
Nevertheless, I would like to know if I need to remove the keyword entry from the list in the IPTC settings dialog in case it already stored the non-UTF-8 encoding?

Re: 0.51: Special chars in IPTC Keywords under Windows/Ubunt
Thank you, mahikeulbody. The forum of exiftool, however, is actually offline as it seems.

Re: 0.51: Special chars in IPTC Keywords under Windows/Ubunt
No. On Windows where I wrote the tags UTF-8 encoding was disabled. I am not sure if it is the default setting or might have been set from an older configuration file which sits in the folder. Normally I just overwrite all files to keep the configuration.

0.51 Win 7/Ubuntu: Special chars in IPTC Keywords
I am using the current version of XnViewMP 0.51 on Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04. In the first step I added keywords to JPEG files running XnViewMP on Windows. When I switched to Ubuntu I noticed that those keywords containing an ß do not show the character but the rest of the word.

Re: Source code in Public repository
I am using Ubuntu and have been working with Windows for a long time. I would be very happy to help where I can. You could maybe consider to split the software into modules from which you could release at least some to the open source community.
What I am talking about is XNViewMP of course.

Re: Difference between rotation and lossless rotation?
@bucky
exactly. thank you for the explanation: that makes it more clear.
but why are the normal and the lossless mode working different / are not both working on the basis of an 8x8 block?

Re: Difference between rotation and lossless rotation?
@Dreamer
maybe your problem has something to do with the orientation flag set in the exif data. i could imagine that the representation in the browser/viewer differs from what the "raw pixel data" of the image are. maybe someone can describe which program option could force such a behaviour ...

contactsheet from eps and ai
hello.
as i am quite new to xnview i need to ask you something.
my idea is to build up contactsheets from multible eps files which cannot be
previewed by other filebrowsers. that works fine so far.
