... do a clean install?
icons have been available since at least version 1.5.5
This was good advise, thank you. I had to hide my XnViewMP roaming folder beforehand of the update installation, to get the new icons.
I do find these icons quite useful. The update history proves me right that it ...

Re: Lossless Icons for the Viewer's toolbar
I doubt its good idea to add 2 specific buttons to the default toolbar.
Don't worry, the configurable toolbars would allow you to stay with the user interface as you are used to it, while others could benefit from improvements.
better to add 1 'menu' button
No no, this cumbersome "one ...

Re: Next File-Button shows previous file
Thank you, this is the solution: I just need to switch to the browser and use the green 'Sort by' button. :D Browser sort was descending, hence the viewer buttons worked in reverse.

Re: Fit image to window - does not work bug report
True! Without zoom lock, Auto image size works well. Interacting features, no bug.
Thank you for your help
Finally, how is the 'Reset' auto image size option functioning? I found some earlier posts mentioning the reset option, but I could not figure out.

Re: Fit image to window - does not work bug report
Yes, I changed Settings>View - Auto image size. This is what I meant with 'permanent' setting.
But it does not work, images are displayed 1:1 when opened.
The recent update to XnviewMP 1.4.3 did not make it better, so I came back to my post, to see - no action taken :(
