(see http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=31685)
but here, it's not ...

Re: Wrong colors: 32bpp jpg gets interpreted as 24bpp
Has ICC profile ( T ools » O ptions... » Thumbnails » Icon info » File info ) is activated by default. This tells XnView's browser to display a small icon next to the thumbnail if an image contains a profile.
Ok, but directly opening the image, i get no clue that there is an embedded profile ...

Re: Wrong colors: 32bpp jpg gets interpreted as 24bpp
Thanks, yes.
But since this is something rather obscure to most users, couldn't / shouldn't xnview at least inform the user that he'd need to switch to a different type of displaying?
It's really easy to oversee in some pictures.

Wrong colors: 32bpp jpg gets interpreted as 24bpp
This JPG image is shown in XnView with a greenish label, where the real bottle is grey...
System Preview on win7 64bit shows the colors correctly.
The system info says it's a 32bpp image, xnview (2.32 AND MP 0.72) see a 24bit image, and distort the colors. See screenshots:

On XNshell-convert-resize, sizing is not correctly applied
When resizing by the shell ext. convert -> resize, there are limits for width/height (or height/width, it's not explicitly written, would be another improvement), but they are not correctly applied:
I have an image 2000px wide 1500px high, which i convert via shell:
If i set the limits to 150x1500 ...

Re: Shell Extension on Open-File dialogues?
Yes, it works. Thanks a lot!
I had only the 64bit version installed.
After adding the 32bit version too, it works.
Not sure if the 32bit version alone would be enough.
This might be worth a note in the download area?
Thanks again!

Shell Extension on Open-File dialogues?
The shell ext. does not show up in file-open dialogues, eg. Browsers like chrome or Firefox. (On Win 7 64)
I have not used the extension in a while, but i am quite sure, this used to work once. (maybe under XP)
I see that eg. my zip software (7-zip) also does not have an entry in chrome, but eg ...

Re: Crop improvement ?
Supporting this.
I think not greying out outside the selection is the biggest downside of XnView.
Much has been discussed and Mockups posted in this thread:
