XnView Software

Thanks for the reply; the problem is there is no XnView.sh when i extract the tar.gz file.

G'Day; I just downloaded XnView-x86--unknown-Linux2.x-static-fc4.tgz, which I assume is the latest version, but being new to Ubuntu I have no idea how to install it, can someone assist please.

G'Day; I'm trying to install xnview in ubuntu 12.04, followed the procedure in this post;

But when I run the last command I get this ;
[miykel@miykel-H61M-USB3-B3:~/Desktop$ ./install-xnviewmp -a
> Using automatic configuration
> Creating ...

Thanks for the reply there Xnview but I already have the package, what I don't know is how to install it, I extracted the file and read the "install" file but, due to my own Linux ignorence, it made no sense to me at all, however I'm determined to learn about this OS and how to install programs, so ...

G'Day; Been using XnView for a longtime on Windows but I'm in the process of learning to use Ubuntu and am trying to install XnView on Ubuntu 11.10 but don't know what the commands are, could someone here help me with this please
