Re: Backup everything

I used Everything software to discover that my xnview.ini file resides in folder C:\users\username\appdata\roaming\xnview

Save a copy somewhere and use if needed!

Slide show options

Hello, still rate xnview after so many years!
I use slideshow, more options, insert to provide me with a useful strip of exif info pertaining to each image but I'd like something that doesn't appear to be available amongst the options. What I'd like to know is whether image stabilization was used ...

Lossless JPEG Transformations without .xnbak file

I am hoping to achieve lossless transformations (mostly rotations) but without renaming/saving the original image with an xnbak suffix. Does XnView facilitate this and if so, how? Thanks

Re: Using Categories

Looking at answers supplied in Dec 2014 re Categories to mvrock I'm a little puzzled.
1. mvrock refers to "boating" and "skiing" but yet my screen for category limits input to only 3 characters. Are we on the same subject?
2. Pierre's answer refers to "right clicking". Sorry, but where/what am I ...

Re: Drawing selection with RButton, cancel opens menu

I'm not sure whether you solved 'how to crop? I also was having trouble too, expecting a sub-menu with a right click but eventually I cracked it thus! In essence, open the original image, right click on it for sub-menu and hit Shift + X to introduce the drawing tool (hidden at this stage), now left ...

Hi Pierre - Seems like my question has many aspects to it so I think I'll best get the solution by experimenting. Best

Re: Sending images to multple recpients does not work

I'm just browsing and came upon this post . . . . In my case, I leave the recipients box blank and after preparing Subject and text message then hitting Go, I get directed to my email agent - ready for me merely to choose the recipients from my address book.

Re: Batch processing: Saving not as expected

I then hit the go button. What else to do? (I did indicate in my original post what I hoped to achieve . . isn't there a flow chart @ xnview that displays results of alternative box-ticking?) Best.

Batch processing: Saving not as expected

Hi - I've been working with the Batch Processing > General tab options and finding that the Saves are not happening as I would wish. Can you please differentiate between the Overwrite and Skip options in the context of the Delete original and Keep original date/time attribute check boxes. When I ...

Re: Installation process, xnview

Thanks for the reply - everything happened when I double-clicked on the exe file . . . I also unchecked the dialogue box if I wanted to check Run each time, and then set up a shortcut. (I'm a bit out of practice as everything on my pc has been troublefree for many months :D flw!). Best

Installation process, xnview

I have extracted xnview from the zip file into xnview program folder where several folders and files have been deposited but I can't seem to get the program to open or to create an appropriate shortcut. What am I failing to do?! (I used to have an older version which I've uninstalled, and am using ...
