Do you really think that XnView MP should be able to open an unlimited amount of tabs? It is not a Internet Web Browser...
I put no limit as a "figure of speech". I've set "tab limit"=1, but if the "tabs per folder" option were available I would use four or five tabs. However different people ...

Have you tried changing the 'Maximum view tabs' to "1" ? -----------> the setting is in Settings > Interface > Tabs
Thanks, hadn't noticed that! To be perfect though, I'd like to have the option to set either:

"Maximum total view tabs"=no limit

Behaviour of opening tabs
When reviewing photos i have the browser showing the thumbnails. I double-click on a thumbnail to inspect the full size photo, then double-click again to return to the browser. This opens a new tab for each image. Is it possible to prevent this and open only one tab per folder?

Is it possible to disable XnviewMP going to fullscreen when pressing the mouse wheel? On the "Keyboard/Mouse" options I have "Middle button" set do "Do nothing" but the behaviour hasn't changed.
