I have this problem as well. Deleting/moving 1 or more files in thumbnail mode freezes XnViewMP 0.51 for 5-20 seconds each time. My data is on a network fileshare, but XnView 1.99 and Windows Explorer do this much faster.
I do not have high quality thumbnails enabled. Enabling or disabling ...

In XnView 1.99.5 (and prior), I can drag a thumbnail from the right half of the screen to a folder in the folder list on the left side of the screen. In XnViewMP 0.51, dragging to folders is not allowed. Could you fix this?
