I'm not even sure this is a bug or just my mistake…
— I am dealing with genealogy documents, and I timestamp them all by the date and time of the event they're about, and that works fine
— But when I then try to rename them by the EXIF created date and time, using the rename functionality, year 1900 ...

Re: XMP Iptc4XmpExt display
Sorry for having been so long to reply.
Two possible presentations of the XMP panel are presented in the attachment.
Solution 1 would certainly be better if several indent levels can be implemented.

XMP Iptc4XmpExt display
Hello XnView.
I use Exiftool to manage some IPTC Extension tags like LocationShown and PersonInImage, and of course, it “works” fine as can be seen on the XnView XMP panel. In XnView MP, the PersonInImage list is displayed as expected within the Iptc4XmpExt section of the XMP panel, but the ...

IPTC/XMP Coutry Code
Of course, I might be completely out of my mind and/or this section may not be the right place… But still:
— when using the IPTC-IIM/XMP window to set keywords, it turns out that inserting the Country code (with “Insert from” command) does not work
— when using batch convert to achieve the same ...

Re: Browser "Up folder" Thumbnail
I'm one of those “semi-advanced” users that always has a bunch of questions and a handful of suggestions (i.e. the thick guy who always believes he’ll understand). So, I don't know whether I'm welcome or not, but I definitely want to claim that XnView and XnView MP are just great, and put 65536 ...

Re: IPTC window resizing
For some reason, I cannot attach any file (“extension not allowed” whatever the extension is). But here is what I believe to be the root of the problem (the fact that the heigth remained free was a clue)…

Re: IPTC window resizing
I had already tried that kind of things, like saving the initial version of the xnview.ini file just after installation or after setting up the options, and copying it back after the bug appeared, and it had not worked. This afternoon, I just deleted the line {geometry=@ByteArray(\x1\xd9\xd0\xcb\0 ...

Re: IPTC window resizing
Thank you for taking care so quickly!
If of any use:
¹ the screen of my laptop is set to 1366×768 pixels
² after it has frozen, it is impossible to widen the IPTC window any further

Editing IPTC–IIM/XMP
1. Clearing or replacing the values of a particular IPTC field on a set of selected pictures is definitely an absolute and urgent requirement; I read somewhere in the forum that you agreed but did not know how to implement it; may I suggest that a “Clear/Replace original values” command could be ...

Changing timestamps
In order to ensure a full coherence, would it be possible, from the Tools menu as well as by batch, to offer the possibility to update the IPTC and the XMP timestamps together with the file and the EXIF timestamps?

IPTC window resizing
I am using XnView with MS Windows 7 and I encounter the following problem with the IPTC window: after I have resized it, it becomes wider than the screen and it is impossible to change any more although the horizontal and diagonal arrows are available on the edges. The problem is only with the width ...
