OK,so we agree that an offline mode is needed:having said that, for the time being is there any workaround to keep XnView offline? Some hidden preference or some line that could be added in xnview.ini, maybe?
@ XnTriq ,sorry I did not understand the meaning of those three links you've posted above ...

How can I block all internet requests from XnView?
Hi there,I've found out that XnView, aside of checking for updates, will eventually connect to the internet in other ways too,the most creepy of all being for me the geo location feature:that will either connect to google earth and open directly in the geo tab of the exif wndow,or try to open a page ...

Re: How to set custom colors and text for Colour Labels?
OK,many thanks:that surely explains why I was having such a hard time figuring where to put those lines...
Since image collections/bookmarking and custom filters is indeed the next thing I was going to ask,I'm going to keep an eye on the discussion you've linked.

Re: 0.61: Very poor JPEG thumbnails quality in XnViewMP
OK,I've made some progress:installed the zip archive version of XnViewMP 061 in a dedicated folder, chosen at the start up prompt custom directories for its database and other files (in order to not interfere with the existing 051 version),and launched the program.

Re: Very poor JPEG thumbnails quality in XnViewMP 061
Good,so I'm going to install version 061 again using the compressed archive and keep both versions for comparing/testing.
Of course I don't want them to share the same folders,so is it possible to modify this preference in some configuration file before actually launching version 061? Otherwise I ...

Re: Very poor JPEG thumbnails quality in XnViewMP 061
I think I may also have pressed that button, but I can't remember anything happening-anyhow,since I'm now back to version 051,which I have installed using the .deb package, can I also manually extract the zipped (.tgz) version of XnViewMP 061 to a subdirectory of my home folder and have both versions ...

0.61: Very poor JPEG thumbnails quality in XnViewMP
I've just tried XnViewMP 061 on my Linux system and I've instantly observed that it renders JPEG thumbnails of very low quality, something that did not occur in version 051:furthermore,every possible fix that I could think of,like rebuilding thumbnails, optimizing the database, deleting database ...

How to set custom colors and text for Colour Labels?
I'd like to set both custom colors and custom text for Colour Labels in XnView MP:after searching the forum for a while, looks like these are non-UI settings that are to be added in the xnview.ini configuration file,in the [Browser] section:fine, however the issue I'm seeing is that there are no such ...

Re: Changing image info background in compare mode ?
Yes,exactly
I've just checked and it only happens with the Dark theme:is there any tweak in the .css style sheet for this theme that could eventually fix this issue ?

Re: Changing image info background in compare mode ?
Thanks for your reply:that's strange, because I have set that parameter to a custom color (red) which works fine in normal view mode, but reverts back to default (white) in compare mode.
If you find this useful,I've posted some screenshots to demonstrate the issue

How to run XnView in debug mode ?
Is it possible to run XnView MP in debug mode ? I've found an old thread where adding this feature was discussed:since I'm occasionally having some random crashes with XnView MP 0.51 on Ubuntu 10.04 64bit,and have no idea at all on what triggered the crash,I was thinking that some debugging info and ...

Image info background can't be changed in compare mode
I've observed that the image info background colour in compare mode can't be changed, all modifications applied to the normal image view are also applied (all image info edits and custom fonts) in compare mode except the background colour, which stays white and that makes it pretty much unreadable.

Changing image info background in compare mode ?
Hi there,I'm using XnViewMP Version 0.51 in Ubuntu Lucid 64,it is finally way more usable than the previous version 0.3.9 (still in the repo) which used to crash a lot:I'm now trying to set a different background color for the image info when in compare mode,as it's almost unreadable with a white ...
