Anyone know how to change it?

This is what I found out by either trial and error or googling:

On the File Open/Save common dialog, thumbnails are shown by default for the My Pictures folder and subfolders.
This happens irrespective of what type of view you set on Explorer. I.e. You might have set ...

On one install of XnView 1.93.4 the Save dialog window opens to view list. On another it shows thumbnails. It doesn't remenber the last view mode used and I can't find the setting to change this.

Is this Windows XP behaviour or XnView's?
I tried comparing the .ini of the two installs but there are ...

Use the resize tool (Shift-S). Change the values of Print Size fields.

If you have other other basic doubts select from menu Info>Help and use the search field (e.g. resize).

Currently (v1.93.4) when I display images by their real size (Ctrl+Numpad -) on my 21" monitor they are actually a bit bigger than their real (printed) dimensions.

This happens because different monitors have different DPI.

It'd be nice to have a customizable setting (factor) to compensate for ...

I'm sure there must have been an annoucement on the forum but I think it isn't there now.

I did download version 1.92 but never installed it, and because I have the .exe version of the release I cannot (?) access the whatsnew.txt inside.

Just to report that I just had this same problem on a fresh install of WinXP Pro Sp2. I have an older install of XP Sp2 on another partition on this machine and ShellExt setup there didn't complain.
Anyway, registering ATL.DLL as advised fixed it.

It is in the changelog as added feature. I followed a link in it directly to this thread.

I'm the author of ideas 4 and I'll be following this thread.

It would in the sense that the image would be presented shrunk to fit the smaller space of the desktop.
