I have no problem using XnView to acquire the images. It seems to work just fine, but where does XnView put the images it acquires? I can't find them anywhere.
I ended up having to use built-in windows tools or just using Explorer.
Couldn't find anything in the helpfile.

How about a submenu?

File selection disappears when deleting file
I select a file in the list, and delete it (pressing "delete"). File disappears, and XnView insists on refreshing the entire list - forcing me to find back the point in the list I was at.

As Pierre pointed out in his reply, the selection is not lost. When minimizing and then maximizing XnView, the focus is not restored properly. So the selected files are still selected, but it's hard to see since the focus is not in the file area of the browser and therefore the selected files are ...
