Video preview broken in 1.8 on Linux/KDE
Video preview worked with 1.7.2, no preview with 1.8 on Linux/KDE/Tumbleweed. Does not matter if running on X11 or Wayland.
What could I do to track this down?

Re: XNViewMP hangs on Linux after video in viewer or full screnn
From what I'm gathering here . FreeSync is for AMD GPUs, and G-Sync is for Nvidia. I'm using the nvidia driver, but somehow it's not supported on my system.
I'll keep reading, but it seems like there is a bug somewhere that someone should address, but hopefully I can find a workaround like you ...

That is an external monitor? Maybe you can disable FreeSync or whatever on that device?Akovia wrote: Tue Jul 16, 2024 12:20 pm Thanks for the tip, but that doesn't seem to be an option on my system.

Re: XNViewMP hangs on Linux after video in viewer or full screnn
That video mode change is not a video problem. Even when I go full screen on images, my screen gets black, my monitor clicks like changing modes or going to sleep. But after a few seconds, the image is full screen and then I can step through all images and videos in that folder.
OK, that has ...

Re: XNViewMP hangs on Linux after video in viewer or full screnn
Oh, that worked much better. I get no thumbnails, just the white boxes. But the video plays in the preview pane and opening it, it plays in a tab. Only when I do F11 for full screen, I get a black screen, then sometimes a glimpse of the video, than black again.
But no crashes anymore!

Re: XNViewMP hangs on Linux after video in viewer or full screnn
I added export useInternalVideoPlayer=false to _xnview.sh and run it, but that did not make any difference, crash on 1st click on any video file.
But I can play these videos with all other video players, I have on my system (eg. VLC, Dragon, Haruna)

Re: XNViewMP hangs on Linux after video in viewer or full screnn
Just tried it, but sorry, still the same problem. Works perfect under X11, crashing on first click on a video file under Wayland.
I'll send you the logs.

Re: XNViewMP hangs on Linux after video in viewer or full screnn
The crash while selecting a video in the browser tab only occurred because of the preview window.
When configuring xnview to skip the internal video playback it doesn't crash:
File list > Custom filter > Video > Associated program
View > Filter > Video > unchecked
no preview panel
The info ...

Yes, I added it to xnview.sh, but that did not help.
