Re: Hide rating stars
If you right-click on the browser Toolbar (not very obvious...) you can select which elements are displayed in the browser, I think unchecking 'Categories Filter' will probably hide the ratings stars... Probably? 🤔 It either does or doesn't, right? Well that wasn't it, but this is the correct fix: ...

Re: 0.98.0: Video thumbnails not working
which settings do you have in filelist>Custom filter? Ah, and there it was. Thumbnails were disabled there. Honestly, I do find that a weird place to enable/disable thumbnails, since there's a dedicated "thumbnails" section in the settings... /edit Oh, it crashes in some folders with those thumbnai...

Hide rating stars
How can I hide the rating stars at the bottom in the preview pane? I'm trying to make XnView into a UI that doesn't have any useless (for me) or distracting elements showing. The rating stars, with all due respect, is one of those elements that needs to go. How can I do that? I'm on XnViewMP 0.98.0 ...

0.98.0: Video thumbnails not working
XnView: MP 0.98.0 - 64 bit OS: Windows 10 20H2 64bit In the file list pane, video thumbnails are not being generated. In the settings it's set to generate 4 images, just like for folders. Switching that to 1 image does not solve it. Effect: All I see it the system icon in place of the thumbnail. Sam...

Re: Lossless transformations on others than JPEG
I'm sorry, I don't understand, where exactly can loss be introduced when converting and resaving an image in a lossless format?? The lossless transformation tool only works for JPEG , I'm asking to enable it also for lossless formats . As I see this, the lossless transformation tool works just fine...

Re: 0.97.1: Image is too small for a fraction of a second
Alright, but I would actually rather have a image load top to bottom, like in a web browser... That doesn't happen, even for images that can definitely do that. Sorry but not possible Well it is, because browsers do it, but not in XnviewMP at this point ;) Hopefully in the near future? It really ma...

Re: Lossless transformations on others than JPEG
Now as for JPEG lossless operations, can we please have them on lossless file formats too, please? Isn't a lossless JPEG operation an operation in which the resulting image matrix is saved in a way that avoids introducing additional encoding artifacts? But that issue doesn't arise with a lossless f...

Alright, but I would actually rather have a image load top to bottom, like in a web browser... That doesn't happen, even for images that can definitely do that. So while I appreciate that this setting prevents the distracting "jumpy" behaviour in which an image loads, I would rather have images not ...

Re: 0.97.1: Image is too small for a fraction of a second
Which image formats are those? Because for me this happens for all pictures. Including progressive JPEG, which doesn't have that feature, afaik.

Re: Lossless transformations on others than JPEG
You mean that there isn't a separate 'lossless rotate' action? No, this *only* works on JPEG, and *no other* image format whatsoever. So isn't it understood that, provided an appropriate rotation algorithm is used, and the image is resaved using lossless compression, the rotation will be lossless? ...

Re: Cycle to next/previous file
And as for the Backspace key? Mind you, I don't want *only* the Backspace key to cycle to the previous image. And I *don't* want the Up Arrow key to cycle in the same way. Can I still do that? In other words: Up Arrow: previous image (no cycle) Down Arrow: next image (no cycle) Backspace: cycle to p...

0.97.1: Image is too small for a fraction of a second
XnView: MP 0.97.1 - 64 bit OS: Windows - 64bit In browser mode, when selecting an image, that image is displayed a few pixels too small for a fraction of a second, and then adjusts itself to fit in view. Effect: this is distracting to the user while flicking through images, especially similar-lookin...

Lossless transformations on others than JPEG
Some lossless transformations are possible on JPEG. That's good, I like that. But why can't I losslesly rotate a lossless picture? On a losslessly compressed picture, like PNG, any 90-degree rotation, or mirror, is by definition also lossless. It makes sense that transformations that can be done los...

Customize browser toolbar
It's possible to customize the main toolbar. That's good. But I can't customize the browser toolbar in the same way. The way I'm used to using the program (or rather, these kind of image viewers) is to have a narrow column that is the browser, and ALL the rest of the program's screen real estate is ...
