REQ: side by side view
Plenty of space on today's wide screens to show Before and After side by side, for instant comparison while tweaking the sliders. Preferably zooming both windows at the same time as well.

Direct access to CompareView
Is there a way to fire up XnView in compare view by passing files via startup parameters?
Some command line parameter like "xnview.exe -compare File1.jpg File2.jpg" or anything along that line?

Re: xnView: Ability to right-click drag and copy or move
You should get a little +Plus-sign on your mouse cursor. Try toggling it On/Off while holding down the left mouse button.
It's the same all over Windows, I always use it to make sure I do actually copy and not move (although it is not required for some instances, Windows by default always copies ...

1. In the directory tree on the left, be able to move folders into other folders or rearrange.

I strongly second this suggestion. Been missing that badly.

Incorrect View in Folder Tree
Dragging folders - moving them to another location - is not reflected in the folder tree. Refresh won't help either. I always have to click away into different folders, then come back to verify my file/folder operations have been carried out.

Re: RC2: Embedded thumbnails not updated after lossless crop
Makes sense. Guess I am too preoccupied with my tree problem and with organizing my pics to think straight.ziomau10 wrote: .. the Metadata submenu is active only when the image(s) selected does have some metadata.
Will take your advice and open a new thread for this.
Thanks anyway.

Re: RC2: Embedded thumbnails not updated after lossless crop
Hmm, thanks but it's still not working for me.
All Metadata command are greyed out on the fly-out menu. None of the EXIF data are activated anyway in my casee, all disabled. And I am not using the cache either.

Re: RC2: Embedded thumbnails not updated after lossless crop
I also experience a bunch of Refresh issues on Win7 x64.
Tried the same variations of enabling/disabling Cache, Embedded thumbnails - but nothing helps.
Most confusing to me is the tree behavior. Dragging folders is not reflected in the tree, I always have to remind myself to click away into other ...

Scroll Left +Right
When enabling the mousewheel to scroll up/down (Options > Keyboard/Mouse), it were nice to have some way of scrolling left and right, too, by holding down Alt or Shift while wheeling the mouse.

Re: Catgories lost when file change location
Aware of this issue, I tried to work around it by keeping my pics in a mounted partition that I always assign the same drive letter to.
However, when moving pics within such a partition AND within XnView (dragging them in the browser, from the list view onto the tree), XnView still breaks its own ...

Is there a way to save layouts?
I find myself adjusting and dragging the various areas to accommodate different workflows. It were nice if I could simply switch between them.
