The bug is related to the sync option, if I disable it, I haven't the bug but I lose this important feature. I think that the browser's view synchronization is intended to work also with categories's selection.
Generally I select a category, I open an image and start to move forward to the next 10 ...

Browser's synchronization with categories still doesn't work on linux:
If you have images with the same tag in different folders you are unable to navigate by categories, because when you close a pictures the browser goes to show you the folder where is the picture and not the categorie.

This option doesn't works with categories.
How to reproduce:
1) select a category, in browser window you can see all pics with a specific tag
2) open one of these pics
3) close view tab
4) now browser window show you the content of the folder where last picture opened is stored and not the ...

Ok, thanks for your work, exept for this bug, I find XnView MP a very usefull program with really good performance
