I thought that checking that option would make the ratings more stable.. or something like that.

I use SHIFT drag-n-drop to move in xnviewmp.

The standard for Windows (and win-applications) are:
CTRL: force copy, SHIFT force move, ALT is special, in explorer it enforces creating a link.

I had the problem with ratings disappearing, but I guess I found out how to stop them from disappearing. I just send ratings and colour codings to XMP.
