With the panel detached it would be nice if you could make semi transparent or transparent background. example pics are my suggestion and current behavior.

In 0.78 64b windows 8.1 64b if I disable thumbnail caching the color labels on the folders disappear when you assign, leave the folder and enter again (sometimes you need to do it multiple times). If I delete thumb.db I can still see the color labels on folders, until I view them once in the browser ...

It is possible to create, import and export 1000s of categories. And given that apparently sets of categories can contain an unlimited number of categories, I assume that a high number of categories would not create a bottleneck for XnViewMP.

I'm using windows 8.1 64b xnviewmp 0.78, if you tag some files/have some tagged files and later press delete you get a popup to choose whether to delete tagged files, selected files or to cancel, I've tried multiple times and every time I click cancel xnviewmp crashes to desktop

I thought you couldn't add categories to folders but it seems you can do it if you do right click / category.
The problem is that if you have hotkeys for categories (faster) you would try that but it doesn't seem to work.

In windows 8.1 x64 version xnviewmp 0.76.1 x64bits view/show title of panes doesn't work properly when off (unless you turn it on and off again every time you start xnviewmp). As you can see in the pic it's not ticked on yet it says preview, if I tick it on then off preview disappears as it should.
