Filter: <Last Used>

Pierre, I often have to exclude a person's face or a car's plate from an image. I do so using the Mosaic filter. However, every time I call the Filter function (even if multiple times in the same image) I need to scroll down several pages in the filter list to find Mosaic. I wish MP would offer me a...

Re: 1.3.1: Export Category to XMP vs. Thumbnail rotation

Hi Pierre, thanks for looking back at this problem. In 1.6.5 tumbnails keep their orientation correctly when adding categories (XMP). Thus the problem is solved, thanks! Previously mis-rotated thumbnails (from 1.3.1) still keep their wrong rotation, though. Even Rebuild Thumbnails doesn't solve this...

Re: v98.4: Batch Convert -> Text -> Shadow: not remembered correctly

Pierre,
please note that the shadow offset problem is still in 1.3.1:
Batch converting an image using the same settings multiple times moves the shadow away from its original location more and more.

1.3.1: Export Category to XMP vs. Thumbnail rotation

XnView MP Linux Version 1.3.1 64bits (Oct 12 2022) Libformat version 7.126 If "Export Catalog's Category to XMP Subject" is on and "Create XMP data" is on, writing the XMP data into the file confuses XnView's ability to correctly rotate the thumbnail of a Portrait-oriented image. Effect: Thumbnail i...

They shouldn't ;-)
Or at least the calculations should be identical at first setting and after reloading batch convert.

Re: v98.4: Batch Convert -> Text -> Shadow: not remembered correctly

Addition: The misplacement is related to the Blur radius chosen. Simple example: X-Offset = 1 (%), Y-Offset = 1, Blur = 0 works as expected, even after saving and restring the xbs. Now change Blur to 4 and look at the preview. The shadow moves away from the text. Looks like you place the blurred sha...

v98.4: Batch Convert -> Text -> Shadow: not remembered correctly

XnView: MP 0.98.4 - 64 bit OS: Linux 64bit Shadow offsets are not stored/restored correctly when placing taxt in batch convert Pierre, there's something wrong with saving/restoring the shadow offsets when adding text to an image in batch convert. Take any image, open batch convert. Select adding a T...

Re: XnView MP 0.93.1

Pierre,
with Linux x64 v93.0 installed, version 0.93.1 is not offered as an available update during automatic or manual update check. MP claims that the system is up-to-date, which it isn't.

just ran into this annoying bug once more.
This is NOT fixed in 0.92 Linux.

Kind regards

Re: Some thoughts on cropping

WISH: Add a "previous" selection to the list of sizes/ratios which should restore the crop area selection (placement, size, ratio, rotation). But the crop area is kept after 'Crop, save & next' Only as long as you are in the Crop subroutine. If you exit from it (by selecting "Cancel"), e.g. to rota...

Re: "Crop, Save & Next Image" doesn't save the cropped file

Sorry 'keep current image', could you try to disable it. With 'keep current image' disabled, everything works as expected, i.e. moving back to the previous image shows the cropped/saved segment. Note aside: While testing I ran into a situation that 'crop, save & next' did not overwrite the given im...

Re: "Crop, Save & Next Image" doesn't save the cropped file

do you use 'cache behind' setting? There is no "cache behind" setting ;-) There are two cache settings: "Read one image ahead" and "Keep current image". Both are checked as per default. Looks to me as if you need to either re-read the "croped and saved" image or you need to update the cache when cr...

Some thoughts on cropping

Pierre, here's a couple of ideas regarding cropping: 1) "Crop, save & next" repeats placing the crop region on the second image as it was on the former. If you need to adjust the second image before cropping, e.g. by rotating, you have to leave the crop function. This typically happens on scanned im...

Re: "Crop, Save & Next Image" doesn't save the cropped file

Pierre, this issue isn't completely fixed on 0.92 MP Linux 64bit: While the cropped file is correctly saved, some internal cache isn't. If you "crop, save & next" some image, the next image is shown with the same crop region. While still in edit mode return to the previous image. Now the uncropped i...
