Re: XnConvert -- PDFs not read properly
This is fantastic. (Thanks cday for reminder and link to wiki.) Instructions and Ghostscript install worked great. (I wanted to quickly convert a bunch of PDF artwork that I don't need at massive resolutions or file sizes: I'm using XnView MP to batch convert, PDFs at 300 DPI, resize max side to ...

Re: Opening 16 bit tiff files
currently only NConvert can load/write in 16bits
Regarding this 8 bit processing. Can this be explained a bit more?
I'm noticing banding in "lossless" (HEIC, q 100) images produced by XnView. (Luckily PNG and JXL lossless output seems great.)
Is this 8-bit limitation the cause? Persists even ...

Re: 1.3 BUG - save formats duplication
This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.3.1 . Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
Yes, this is fixed now (1.3.1), all formats are only listed once. Thank you! It looks much cleaner. Brain approves.
See: Settings, Formats, Saving, "Show most used format at beginning", uncheck.

Re: 1.3 BUG - save formats duplication
Thanks for the post, user0. Same problem here. Well documented, with screenshots, nice suggestions (agreed).
If this is somehow not a bug, may I also request a setting to disable "most used" formats (listed first). Or better separate the lists.
I also have only a handful of formats selected for ...

Re: AVIF Support
Will AVIF get a "quality" setting in XnConvert (and XnView) in the near future? Currently, there is no easy way to set quality (1-100, like others). XnView only has quantization parameters (as detailed above, color, alpha), and a couple other settings (format, speed). Or perhaps I've misunderstood ...

Re: Scaling Problems (Aliasing, Poor Quality, Not 1:1)
Thanks again Pierre for your work on this fantastic software. Does not show 99% anymore (auto image size), nor does image change in any way after pressing asterisk (go to 100%). Everything seems fixed here. Quality is superb again.

Re: Scaling Problems (Aliasing, Poor Quality, Not 1:1)
Thank you for 0.98.3!
The good news is the scaling quality is much better. Used my test images to verify. :D
The bad news is images are still very slightly scaled (99.x%) for some reason, as described before. Just higher quality and less noticeable since scaling is now much improved. Verified by ...

That's just amazing. Bugs squashed (or collected and put outside). Thank you for caring! Can't wait for 0.98.3.xnview wrote: Wed Apr 14, 2021 2:30 pmThanks to your detailed description I can reproduce the problem.

Re: Scaling Problems (Aliasing, Poor Quality, Not 1:1)
I can't reproduce on HiDPI screen with scaling of 125%, do you have same problem with 'High zoom quality' => 'Zoom in&Zoom out' + bilinear?
The problem is only viewing at 99%?
And if you use 100% for font scaling?
Do you have same problem with 0.98.1?
Thanks for taking a look at this, Pierre ...

Scaling Problems (Aliasing, Poor Quality, Not 1:1)
Problem:
Images should be showing unscaled (1:1), but are instead showing scaled (downscaled, to about 99%). Scaler has problem or poor quality.
Notes:
Very noticeably degrades quality, especially with text and lines, producing much aliasing. Pressing key shortcut (asterisk) to go to 1:1 scale ...

Re: "This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized" [Windows 10]
I am also receiving this error, but only when trying to open XnView MP from another app. Example: DupeGuru, which has convenient shortcut to open files "in default app", but 100% leads to this error. (As of a few months ago, it worked fine.) Note: Opening app or photos normally works fine (double ...

Animated WebP
I really want to condense my library of animated GIFs. WebP looks like the most promising successor for animated GIFs. From unbeatable file size, and ease of encoding (simply using FFmpeg at the moment), to wide range of support. Please implement support for animated WebP if possible! Tried a few ...

Re: [Theme] Blender inspired theme for XnViewMP (incl. icons)
Wow. This is one of the best user-created themes I've ever seen for... well, anything, ever. Beautiful work! Enormous thanks, miki! The settings alone re-arrange things very nicely. Combined with your icons, it's just amazing. Totally agree on the color scheme reasoning; not too dark, and makes the ...
