I always insteall XnViewShellEx but it only started to ask to close Explorer in recent versions.
Are there some changes about the way it installs?
Also, perhaps we can add some detections so it only asks so when necessary.
For example, I just updated from 1.9.1 to 1.9.2 where the two ...

Folder thumbnail should be updated automatically when files changed
This has been bothered me for years, I think it's more like a bug than a feature request so I put it here, but feel free to move.
When you enable thumbnail for folder (in my case, I use "Show 4 thumbnails" option too),
and you move files in and out the folder, it doesn't automatically refresh ...

1.9.1: After deleting multiple images in browser highlights wrong file
This is a regression in 1.9.x. It worked fine before (tested 1.8.2).
1. Open a folder in browser that has 6 images.
2. Select the first three images by hold Ctrl and then click A, B, C.
3. Delete the images.
Expected: It now selects D.
Observed: it now selects F.

1.8.3: xnview asks if save file after the file deleted
This is a regression in 1.8.3 or .2.
1. Open an image, say, a.jpg.
2. Keep the viewer open, delete the file.
3. close the xnview.
Expected: it just closes.
Observed (regression): it asks if you want to save the file etc.

Re: Non-ascii path in xnview.ini (History) causes xnviewMP to start slowly
The difference probably isn't too significant if your machine is very fast -- can you use a stopwatch and measure the difference?
You can use these two fully populated INIs I prepared to test. I can reproduce this bug on two different machines:
XnViewMP.ini.zip
Not easy to see, but sometimes ...

Re: Non-ascii path in xnview.ini (History) causes xnviewMP to start slowly
when there is non-ascii values in History, it takes about 1 to 1.5 seconds for the window to show after you double click the exe.
When there is no such values in ini, the window shows immediately.
See the video below for a quick demo.

Non-ascii path in xnview.ini (History) causes xnviewMP to start slowly
Main bug: if you have an non-ascii pathees in setting like history, XnviewMP starts very slowly. This bug seems to be in XnViewMP for years.
I can reproduce in as early as 1.6.4.
I suspect it fondamentally the same bug as https://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=48026.

Re: How to stop System Notification sound in Windows 10 from being played when trying to delete an item?
Can we add an option to disable this? I'm annoyed by this lately too.
I don't even remember XnView did this before, but I guess I may mis-remember.

1.7.2 - XnView cannot display CMYK JPEG2000 file properly
As title.
It considers channel K as alpha channel and displays it wrong.
Sample image in zip (since the forum does not allow *.jpx.)

1.7.0 regression: use color profile causes gif not showing
This is a regression in 1.6.x, 1.7.0. Cannot reproduce in 1.4.5.
1. Go settings -> Color profile -> check "Use ICC profile for monitor".
2. Prepare a folder with two images, one jpeg and one animated GIF (larger one is preferred.) You can download the two images I used for testing here: https ...
