Re: Companion File Handing in MP?

I would like to second the wish of having the possibility to move/copy/rename/delete companion or better sidecar files with the corresponding image files. Is there a timeline when this will be implemented (http://www.xnview.com/mantisbt/view.php?id=288)?

Re: Import Rating and Colour Label

Even worse. If I now update files from database, the xmp info for keywords, ratings and colour are completely reset in the sidecar.

Re: Import Rating and Colour Label

It seems indeed that XnViewMP reads xmp-files but doesn't show the results. I attach a picture. It was made after building a new databas from files. You can see on the left site that the picture is chosen correctly by category (here "Tiere | sonstiges"). But the thumbnail doesn't show the yellow fla...

Re: Raw preview of ORF leads to green image

Hmmm... I'm really not convinced that it is a problem here. There are brands/cameras known to do enough PP before saving the thumb in the Raw file. Perhaps that's why Photoshop's Camera Raw plugin has a special tab (page) dedicated to presets for each camera model they support which mimic the PP ap...

Re: Raw preview of ORF leads to green image

As far as I found them I tried to change the raw settings. I found some in the menue of batch convert. There I changed the settings to "use camera WB" and I increased the brightness. This I how the preview looks like: Screen-2014-03-27_16-43.jpg and this is the embedded preview: Screen-2014-03-27_16...

Re: Raw preview of ORF leads to green image

dcraw has no problems in converting ORF.

Using the preview image is not the solution because that is too small to judge about the quality. That's why I would like to use half raw size at least.

Perhaps Pierre could tell me what is used to decode raw files?

Re: Raw preview of ORF leads to green image

Ok, if I change the white balance to "use camera wb", the green cast disapears. So automatic wb doesn't work with ORF. But the resulting image is pale with still wrong white balance. I don't know if XnViewMP uses dcraw, but if so perhaps it is outdated?

Raw preview of ORF leads to green image

The more I work with XnViewMP, the more I love it. and the more I find things that I don't understand. I take my pictures mainly as raw pictures. The format is .orf (Olympus E-M5). When I try to open these ORF in the full screen window, either the embedded jpeg is shown or (if I changed the behaviou...

Re: Deleting files in fullscreen mode deleted all folders!

So let me rephrase: You only worked in folder 2013 (let's say) and you deleted the entire folder? To Pierre: Perhaps the arrows inadvertently fall on '..' folder? I have a folder structure like this: Pictures ->2006 ->2007 . . . ->2013 ->2014 I worked in "2014". And every folder below "Pictures" wa...

Re: Deleting files in fullscreen mode deleted all folders!

Yes, I got from broser to full screen with F11. Then I tried to use the arrow keys to switch between the pictures. As I realised that it doesn't work (didn't see the option in the preferences), I proceeded by clicking with the mouse on the arrow symbols. I deleted some of the pictures, and suddenly ...
