If I search for pictures by category (on the left), every found image is shown twice.

I would like to second the wish of having the possibility to move/copy/rename/delete companion or better sidecar files with the corresponding image files. Is there a timeline when this will be implemented (http://www.xnview.com/mantisbt/view.php?id=288)?

Even worse. If I now update files from database, the xmp info for keywords, ratings and colour are completely reset in the sidecar.

It seems indeed that XnViewMP reads xmp-files but doesn't show the results. I attach a picture. It was made after building a new databas from files. Hmmm... I'm really not convinced that it is a problem here. There are brands/cameras known to do enough PP before saving the thumb in the Raw file. Perhaps that's why Photoshop's Camera Raw plugin has a special tab (page) dedicated to presets for each camera model they support which mimic the PP ap...

As far as I found them I tried to change the raw settings. I found some in the menue of batch convert. There I changed the settings to "use camera WB" and I increased the brightness. This I how the preview looks like: Screen-2014-03-27_16-43.jpg and this is the embedded preview: Screen-2014-03-27_16...

dcraw has no problems in converting ORF.

Using the preview image is not the solution because that is too small to judge about the quality. That's why I would like to use half raw size at least.

Perhaps Pierre could tell me what is used to decode raw files?

Ok, if I change the white balance to "use camera wb", the green cast disapears. So automatic wb doesn't work with ORF. But the resulting image is pale with still wrong white balance. I don't know if XnViewMP uses dcraw, but if so perhaps it is outdated?
