While we can (in view mode) toggle and change the colors of the checkerboard background pattern used behind transparent images, none of these options are available in the file browser, which always uses the default colors for the checkerboard and has no way to toggle it.

While when you zoom in a raster image it's perfectly OK that you get to see bigger and bigger pixels of the image, the vector images contained in the SVG format are supposed to resize perfectly without any bigger pixels; their vector nature means ...

Now it's working properly, and shows a checked background under the SVG graphic, even when the graphic is not white, but the background doesn't respect its settings (tools, settings, view, view, use checkboard pattern+colors+size), neither in the browser nor in the single file view.

So you're saying that you've got other SVG files with transparent backgrounds that do get rendered correctly?

Maybe I'm not being clear: the SVG IS a white pushpin icon, but it has TRANSPARENT background, as you can clearly see here:

The problem is that XnView MP shows the white pushpin on a WHITE BACKGROUND, which is not correct: as in transparent PNGs ...

Still nothing in v0.87 x64, all white images for white svgs, in thumbnail, preview pane and opened image...

In latest 0.86 x64 the preview pane works again for svgs, but still with white background, so that white svg designs show a full white preview.

Even opening the svg shows a full white image for white SVG designs.

In latest 0.85 x64 even the preview pane shows a full white image, not only for white SVGs, but for all SVGs.

Opening the image works ok, but always shows a white background.

Nonetheless there still is no way to set SVG thumbnail background to something not white, and this means that white SVG images can't be seen since they're rendered on white bg! Do these SVG files have a transparent background? Or what is the background colour of the SVG files?

Feature is still missing in latest XnViewMP 0.84 x64: still no transparency in SVG thumbnails , so still white SVGs are invisible in thumbnails as they're rendered on a white bg.

Are you sure that you haven't excluded SVG files from file list in Settings - File List - Custom filter ?

You're lucky you can see them. The XnView MP Search finds all 510 of the .SVG files in my DVD folder, but won't display any of them. :shock:
