Re: "Refresh directory" not working
'refresh' check for new files. In your case, the file is already here but as a 'unknown file'
Excuse me if I'm being annoying here, but that is highly unintuitive. XnViewMP should at least check whether the filesize of an already-read file has changed, in which case a reread to determine type is ...

Re: "Refresh directory" not working
Ok, but do you agree that "Refresh" should really unconditionally refresh the directory?

Re: "Refresh directory" not working
which 'filter by' do you use?
I use "Images", but now I tried it with "All", and voilá, new image is schown even without clicking Refresh.
My guess is that Hugin starts writing a file which is not a valid JPG (yet), XnView sees the new file but discards it for not being an image. Is that possible ...

"Refresh directory" not working
I very often have the problem that "Refresh" is not working. What I'm doing, for example, is selecting files and then opening them with Hugin, creating a panorama. Once that's finished, I switch back to XnViewMP, but the newly created panorama is not there. Ok, that's fine, but clicking "Refresh ...

Re: Using classification as filter in 1.4.0
Ah, I see. I tried clicking the empty space to the left, and it works! So it's merely some display error with the toolbar icons.user0 wrote: Wed Dec 28, 2022 5:44 am in default browser mode of clean portable 1.4.0 it looks like this:

Thx for pointing that out and sorry for that.

Re: Using classification as filter in 1.4.0
This is a major step backwards. I constantly need things like "show all unrated pictures", but the new control only let's me select "X+ stars". Gonna have to reinstall 1.3.x...
you have the same, click on 'no rating' and <= or =
There's no "<=" or "=". Here's a screenshot, tell me what I'm ...

Re: Using classification as filter in 1.4.0
Hello,
2) I cannot select "show 3 star or above", i.e. having multiple rating show.
The UI has changed :
You will find what you are looking for here : Settings > Browser>Toolbar - Rating. Related post: https://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=44451&p=182998
Hope this helps

Re: 1.4.0 beta2 "filter by" regression: no rating filtering
now you have a better way Settings>Borwser>Toolbar - Rating
But this only allows to filte "X+ stars". I cannot, as before, e.g. only show 3* pictures, or <=2*. Sorry, but I don't see how this is better - or am I missing something?
Not kidding, this is so important to me that I will have to ...

Re: [0.99.1] cmd_tag doesn't work
Can you reproduce this? If Space is a reserved key in viewer mode, it should not be possible to assign it to another action...
No, Keyboard>Space - No action & Shortcuts - Viewer mode>Space for cmd_tag works
Well, weird, but I can live with this. So thx and keep up the good work!
Oh, sh ...

Re: [0.99.1] cmd_tag doesn't work
Also, the Space key as keyboard shortcut doesn't work in View/Fullscreen mode. Instead Space switches to the next image, even though it's definitely assign to "Tag current" in the settings. Must be some overriding default, I changed the shortcut to Ctrl-T, that works. So I will be able to find a ...

Re: [0.99.1] cmd_tag doesn't work
Ok, so I deleted the Base Path in my settings, and now the "Tag Current" button in the image viewer actually works!
But I still think it's a bug, because the image where I was trying this was actually under this base path.
I think that the problem is not with 'base path' (i can't reproduce ...

Re: [0.99.1] cmd_tag doesn't work
'base path' is only used when you share the images folder between multiple computers.
The file that you are trying to tag is on which drive?
