The NEF-pictures of my Nikon Coolpix 5700 take approximately 15 seconds to load (full size). File size is 8 Megabyte. I think that is normal because the original Nikon View application needs the same time to load the same nef-file. Loading raw-pictures consumes very much CPU-power.

Version 1.90.2 not perfect yet
In version 1.91 the files have the correct content.
But they still lack a file name extension although the checkbox "tranform to JPG if needed" is marked.

Re: How about a submenu?
If you right click on a Nikon D70 NEF raw file the shell extension locks the explorer for some seconds an then crashes (the explorer).
Is it as a workaround possible to exclude this file type?

Thank you Olivier_G for your response. Does that mean that XnView does not make use of the emedded profiles but only interprets the EXIF-Tag "Colorspace"?
But why does Nikon View and Photpaint show correct(ed) colors? (They look really realistic!) In Photopaint I get the same (uncorrected) results ...

I was very excited about the icc-profile feature, but now I am disappointed: I doesn't seem to work. I tested JPEGs and TIFF containing IC profiles. The ICC-Color-Profiles were embedded unsing Corel Photo-Paint 12 and Nikon View Editor. Both applications render the images correctly. I cannot see any ...
