Nope. The engine keeps the smallest image at its size - just adds the background color around. The "Alignment" drop-down controls how the smaller image(s) will be placed.
Okok. I realise I should have prefaced the first post by saying that I generally don't want the background color fill :P

But if you chose a strip width based on the widest image, you'd have to upscale the smaller images.The most natural way is to automatically choose on the widest width, in the way in which it is working now. - just IMHO of course.

I'm organizing images within a dropbox folder. I guess it's besides the problem, but it's what's causing it in this specific case

Sometimes when I move images from one folder to another, dropbox tells me that some of those files are added back into the original folder. Even though it does not add those files back and all the images are succesfully moved, they leave their thumbnails in the original folder. I cannot delete them ...
