some days ago i handle my Windows Bitmap collection with different tools.
I also use the XnView graphic tool. On the page of XnView about supported formats
there are listed six extensions:
bmp,rle,vga,rl4,rl8,sys
BMP is the standard suffix. I found examples with RLE suffix for run length ...

some days ago i handle some Star Office Galleries with file name
extension sdg. When i try to open such files with XnView no graphics
are displayed.

The used XnView Classic version was 2.49.1 running on Windows
operating system.

some days ago i handle some OS/2 BMP variant. An example of such a
case is the graphic pal8os2v2-16.bmp of the BMP Suite.

When i run XnView Classic version 2.48 all of these examples are
not displayed and i get an message like

At offset 22 number of palette color entries is stored as short little endian
"palNumEntries". In most cases the palette contains 256 (0100h) colors ( see
output/file.txt)
At offset 16 data chunk size is stored as long value. The size should be
calculated by formula:
data size =
palVersion ...

"Award BIOS logo"should be supported by xnviewl.
The program works as expected for common images with
dimensions like 136x84,136x126 and 640x480.

But i found 2 epa examples, that are not detected/displayed.
