Re: Can XnViewMP run without huge amount of logging data?
The only file that seems affected in my machine is ~/.cache/lxsession/LXDE/run.log Which is actually a symlink to /boot/run.log Is it the same to you? I don't like it because my /boot partition is not encrypted so I see this as a possible privacy or security breach. I'll have to keep a watch on that...

What do automatic contrast and levels do?
I use these two commands — automatic contrast and automatic levels — to improve photos. I usually like the results. Sometimes, not often, they seem to have no effect at all. Would someone be so kind to explain what exactly those two commands do? No, their names are not self explanatory, at least not...

Re: Film simulation crashes XnView
Hi. Sorry I took so long to reply.
I just tested your filters and they work. The older ones still crash, of course. But your will do.
Thank you for your kind attention.

Re: Film simulation crashes XnView
You pointed out 4 filters that cause XnView to crash. I pointed out 5. Does the fifth one work for you?
Only those 5 cause me trouble. All the others work fine.

Re: Can I set a default save directory?
I checked again and found it.
Settings -> General -> File operations -> For 'Save As,' use original pathname.
Sorry about that.
Marking as solved.

Re: Film simulation crashes XnView
Thanks. That's kind of you.
I do have an i915 graphics chip so I was very interested in your fix.
However, it didn't work. I added that file, rebooted, and the problem persists.

[Solved] Can I set a default save directory?
Whenever I edit an image and "Save As" a different file, XnView will not save it in the same directory as the one that contains the original file. Instead, it will save the new file in whatever directory was chosen in the last time it saved any image at all. That is very confusing. I am working from...

Film simulation crashes XnView
Open an image. Select Image -> Film simulation Check the Preview box. The two first choices are "K_TONE Vintage_KODACHROME" and "Kodak Kodachrome 25." The three last ones are "polaroid_px-680_warm_(the end is unreadable)," "technicolor2" and "vibrant_alien." All the named filters crash XnView instan...

Customize filelist toolbar
Maybe that's just asking too much, but I am very stingy with my screen space and that bar annoys me because it's too cluttered. All I need is sorting (name, date, ascending etc.). Everything else could be hidden far deep in any other part of the GUI I never go into. I know I can hide the bar, but th...

Full screen glitches
I have XnView 0.92 on Linux, just upgraded from 0.87. I've never been happy with the viewer. First, it's never really full screen. There is always a tool bar visible. Not the one with icons, I mean the File Edit View... one. I wish I could get rid of that one too. Everything must go. Pressing F11 ma...

Re: XnRetro won't run on Linux
I had another idea: I rolled back all the changes I had done to the xnretro.sh file and copied libSM.so.6 (actually libSM.so.6.0.1 which is the real library and libSM.so.6 which is a symlink) into the XnRetro lib/ subdirectory. It worked to some extent. Now I get this error: error while loading shar...

XnRetro won't run on Linux
I am running Debian Jessie and just found out about XnRetro and the entire XnView family. I was more interested in XnRetro so I tried it first. But it won't run. It complains: error while loading shared libraries: libSM.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory But I have it in...
