XnView Software

I'm new to XnView, and like KMP, find it awesome! However, I'm missing the ability to select areas other than rectangles for cutting and pasting parts of images ie circles, ellipses, freehand shapes. Or is this possible, but buried somewhere I can't see in Tools > Options? Help to find this feature ...

Been using XnView heavily since my last post. Very impressed; does everything I need (with one exception - which I'll search/ask about separately if necessary).

It's odd that a setting ostensibly about behaviour 'on exit' also controls behaviour while the program remains open.

My problem was that search terms had to be re-entered while the program remained open - I actually want them to be deleted when I exit ...

Hi. I've just tried XnView, am exploring its features, and like it a lot. However, one issue I have is that search terms are not remembered; in the search box, the filename drop down menu is always empty:
