Thank you for listening and implementing this, however it is not working for me. When the option (fliename.extension.xmp) is selected the xmp is written as 'filename.xmp'.

Tested in Mint 18 64bit with *.CR2 & *.DNG

Absolutely agree with the above quote, better still, give the user the option of choosing their preference.

Is it possible for the user to choose whether they need the xmp saved as either 'filename.ext.xmp' or 'filename.xmp'. As it stands, the xmp's are not compatible with Darktable and I can find no settings for either choice in both Darktable and XnViewMP.
