Re: New Affinity version, with new file format

Well, that should hopefully make it simpler to implement thumbnail support. I've added 'af' to my custom extensions list, but it doesn't change preview or not.

Camva claimed the new format was not backward compatible. Renaming *.af *.afphoto has no impact on loading the file in Affinity, either ...

New Affinity version, with new file format

In March of last year Canva acquired Serif and their products: Affinity Photo, Designer and Publisher. XnView supports the embedded preview thumbnail images in .afphoto files (from Affinity Photo 2), but now Canva has released Affinity 3 which replaces all three Serif Affinity apps. The new file ...

Histogram missing from browser (1.9.5)

On Windows 11 in my case.

The area for the histogram is there, but there's no graph. It happens no matter which file, which format, etc. Metadata is there when its tab is active, but not the histo.

Just curious if you've heard anything from the video engine developer. Even with the newest version (1.9.4) I still get crashes after exiting the video viewer.

Thanks.

Re: atio6axx.dll crash after exiting video viewer

OK, I lied (but not intentionally)... I thought I had something else to do but I had time after all.

So I've just installed several older versions and tested each by simply opening and closing the video player (I did not actually play the video). For each downgrade, I just ran the installer on top ...

Oh wait, look what I found... 8) https://download.xnview.com/old_versions/XnView_MP/

I'll be back with some results, but I can't guarantee how quickly. :D

Re: atio6axx.dll crash after exiting video viewer

you have not this problem with 1.9.1?

I don't recall seeing it, but I'd have to downgrade to 1.9.1 to verify. Is that version available to download? If several older version are available I could "walk back" until I find a working version (assuming there are no other ill effects from downgrading).

Re: atio6axx.dll crash after exiting video viewer

Well, given that this problem just showed up in the latest XnView and that I've had zero issues with anything else (I use multiple graphics / photo programs) I'm not ready to mess with drivers yet.

Re: atio6axx.dll crash after exiting video viewer

Crashes usually automatically create .dmp (Crash dump) files on Windows.

Those are the minidumps -- C:\Windows\minidump\*.dmp. But it's not creating one, nor a full size C:\Windows\memory.dmp. It just vanishes. I was hoping my XnView MP wrote its own log.

However, I have AMD CPU / GPU as well ...

Re: atio6axx.dll crash after exiting video viewer

There is no crash dialog. It just gives me a background busy pointer for maybe three seconds and *poof*, it's gone -- vanishes with no further info. Is there a log somewhere you need? I tried attaching my xnview.ini but there's apparently no way to attach a text file so I'll PM it to you.

Re: atio6axx.dll crash after exiting video viewer

XnView MP 1.9.2, Windows 11 Home 24H2

It's also crashing for me after exiting the video viewer. I've not narrowed it down to a specific DLL, but here's what happens:

Double-click to open video in a new tab
Optional: Click the arrow button to play the video (crash subsequently occurs whether or ...

UI elements resize when moving app from screen to screen

(seems like possibly this may have been mentioned before?)

Latest version of XnView MP (1.9.1) on Windows 11, but this has happened for many versions.

When I drag the fullscreen XnView MP app window by the titlebar from one screen to another (same resolution on both screens, 1920 x 1080) the ...

Re: How to configure "Open with..." for flatpak app?

Thanks for the update. However, the following year (2022) I bought a new laptop with Windows installed and that's what I've been running since. And my patience with GIMP finally ran out so I've switched to Affinity Photo, so ...

But again. thanks.
