Re: How to locate position of file found by search
#2 Details View Method: 1. Switch to Details view. 2. Scroll down to find the file (looking at the No. column, for example) and select it. 3. Switch to Thumbnails view. Actual behaviour: The top of the list will be shown if the file is too far from the top. Expected behaviour: The view will autoscr...

How should I report minor defects?
Hello, thank you for the great software, Pierre and everyone contributing. I have noticed several minor defects, which may or may not be counted as bugs, for example: No Wraparound in List View To reproduce: 1. Go to Browser and click View > View as > List. 2. Press and hold the up/down arrow key. A...

Re: How to locate position of file found by search
Thank you for your reply. That only works for the folder view and not for the categoy view and the tagged files view. I tried some other methods but none of them worked. #1 Tag and Select Method: 1. Tag the file in the Quick search result. 2. Clear the Quick search box and move the focus to the file...

Re: How to find NOT
Sorry, my steps was needlessly lengthy.
Simpler steps to show A - B:
1. Tag A.
2. Untag B.
3. Click View > Tag > Show tagged files.

Re: How to find NOT
My point is that Tagged files filter and Categories filter are combinable. More advanced search can be done by tagging, or assigning a temporary category to, results of this combination of filters and applying it to the filters in turn. For example, to show ((A ∪ B) ∩ C) - D: 1. Tag A ∪ B. 2. Click...

How to locate position of file found by search
Say, I am using Categories Filter and I found a file by Quick search. I want to see files nearby in a sorted order. How can I locate the positon of that file in the whole current file list? It is especially difficult when the filenames consist of Chinese characters. We don't know how tens of thousan...

Re: How to find NOT
I think I know a workaround:
1. Tag all the files that any/all of the cagetegories in question are assigned to.
2. Select all files universally.
3. Click View > Tag > Invert.
4. Click View > Filter by > Tagged file(s).
1. Tag all the files that any/all of the cagetegories in question are assigned to.
2. Select all files universally.
3. Click View > Tag > Invert.
4. Click View > Filter by > Tagged file(s).

Re: 0.88: Unexported categories removed after importing metadata
This seems to be the case only when editing XMP Subjects / IPTC Keywords inside XnView. When I edited them from outside XnView they were not automatically reflected in Categories. I had to "Update catalog from files" manually. Its behavior seems inconsistent here. This behavior, where Catalog won't ...
