Re: 0.86: Opening subdirectory of directory symbolic link from thumbnails pane changes path to the target of the symlink

I gave the repro steps 5 years ago, including the inconsistency between the thumbnails pane and the folders pane.

xnview wrote:I can't reproduce on VMware, you have the problem with a clean .ini?
I tried it on VMware, and the bug is still reproducing.

This is happening with a clean .ini and the ZIP version of XnView MP 0.88.

Re: 0.87: New Folder does not select the folder name for renaming

I found a way to reproduce.

The bug only happens when XnView MP is running in a virtual machine. It works correctly when running directly on a physical computer.

It happens on both Virtualbox and Hyper-V. It happens on both Windows and Linux. It happens when using the VM console and Remote Desktop ...

Re: 0.87: New Folder does not select the folder name for renaming

Problem still repros in 0.88.

Attached is a video capture that shows this behavior. It's an animated GIF, so you'll have to click through.

0.87: New Folder does not select the folder name for renaming

XnView MP 0.87, all OS

When you create a New Folder, the folder name becomes editable. However, the folder name is not selected, as it is in Windows Explorer. Instead, the text cursor is at the end of the folder name, so anything the user types gets appended to the folder name, instead of replacing ...

0.86: Opening subdirectory of directory symbolic link from thumbnails pane changes path to the target of the symlink

After browsing to a directory symbolic link, opening a subdirectory from the thumbnails pane causes XnViewMP to change the current directory to the target of the symlink.

For example, create the folder structure and directory symlink from the Windows command-line:

mkdir parent
mkdir parent ...

0.84: Exiting dual-monitor fullscreen requires two commands

When "Dual monitor: Use second monitor" is on, you can enter fullscreen by pressing F11 (or clicking the fullscreen icon, or View-Fullscreen).

However, exiting fullscreen requires you to press F11 twice. It never works the first time. This happens no matter how you try to exit fullscreen: press F11 ...

Re: 0.84: Drag-and-drop category goes at end, not alphabetic

Could you (@young) or someone else please check and confirm that this problem has been fixed in 0.84 final?

(Drag&drop in categories Filter doesn't work for me at all - I have to find out what I'm doing wrong, first).

The bug has been fixed in 0.84 final.

You can only move categories in the ...

Re: 0.84: Browser changes Folder after closing active image

sorry but you have it already :)
Settings>Interface>Synchronize browser

Thanks, that works. I don't know how I missed that. I think I just skipped over it because I was looking for it under Tabs.

How about:

Turning it off by default to be consistent with other Windows applications.
Moving ...

Re: 0.84: Drag-and-drop category goes at end, not alphabetic

0.83 behaves correctly, keeping the categories list sorted after drag-and-drop.

The problem started on 0.84. It is still there in the latest 0.84 beta 4.

Re: 0.84: Browser changes Folder after closing active image

An option would be a good idea. However, I think it should be off by default, because it is a side effect that doesn't match other applications.

The Browser is sort of like Windows Explorer. If you open two images from different folders in Windows Explorer, closing one of them will not change the ...

0.84: Drag-and-drop category goes at end, not alphabetical

When you drag-and-drop the category under a Parent category, it is always shown at the end of the list. However, if you close and open XnView, it is shown in alphabetical order again.

When you move a category under a Parent category using "Move to...", it is shown in alphabetical order. This is the ...

0.84: Browser changes Folder after closing active image tab

Whenever an active image tab is closed, the Browser will change to the folder of the closed image.

This is bad when you are browsing a category:

Switch to Categories Filter.
Select a category to browse.
Open an image.
Close the image tab.

The browser now shows the folder that contains the ...
