yes, it's indeed a big step forward, but in my opinion it still needs some work, because:

1) it's very, very slow!
2) it would be nice to se it working for thumbnails too.

XnView is great. On Windows Desktops. But what a pity for Linux users! Actually i don't believe anymore that there will be a 1.90 Linux version of XnView in the near future. Unfortunately Linux doesn't seem to be attractive to graphics software developers. Maybe there's a technical reason for that, ...

Try using 1.9beta windows package with Wine. For me works very well. openSUSE 10.2.

thank you for the hint! unfortunately xnview 1.9 is incredibly slow when opening raw image files (canon crw and cr2) under wine.

Too bad, Version 1.70 doesn't work for me with opensuse10.2 on AMD64. The application freezes, doesn't support canon cr2 raw files, so it's absolutely useless for me.
