Re: Does XnViewMMP update XMP CreatorTool?

Thank you
looking forward to this, though I do see a problem of how one would keep any kind of history or(version control) ;-)
Because I assume that by adding any particular application's name here, that application would be blamed for any and all issues left behind by any previous tool.

Re: Does XnViewMMP update XMP CreatorTool?

Adding such a feature certainly would be of great interest to my work with family photos and family tree research. :D
Is there an easy way to transfer the topic to Suggestions?

Re: Does XnViewMMP update XMP CreatorTool?

Thank you for reminding me :) After finding some of my older images recently, which did have some PersonInImage data, I was trying to figure out how it got there. It must have been Picasa which I used some time ago, before it was abandoned by Google. Now I am trying to find a replacement so that I c...

Re: Does XnViewMMP update XMP CreatorTool?

As a follow-up after all this time, is it possible the personinimage data was added with XnviewMP?
I don't seem to be able to find out how to do it, if in fact the data was added by XnViewMP ;-)
TIA

Re: Search Similar Files

My apologies for the late reply, but the reference to libpuzzle could not have come at a better time - my current problems relate exactly to this issue.
I will most certainly give it a try.
Thank you.

Does XnViewMMP update XMP CreatorTool?

After getting back to review some images to which I know I have added some information which ends up in Xmp.iptcExt.PersonInImage, the images do show the data, but, although I was reasonably sure they were added with XnViewMP, the Xmp.xmp.CreatorTool is listed as ACDSEE Quick View. I may well have, ...

Search Similar Files

After some time off, I am back using XnviewMP (0.93.1) and working with this feature, but have a couple of question and a suggestion Suggestion: when the results of the search are displayed, it would be very helpful to myself, if the details of the search, i.e. by file name, by file data etc were di...

Re: Correspondence between XnviewMP labels & Standard field names

Thank you very much for your comments. I found them very helpful. Just prior to posting my question, I had looked through the XnViewMp forum for prior discussions and answers and ended up on your site. Even though my French is pretty rusty, Google Translate did a marvelous job and I very much apprec...

Correspondence between XnviewMP labels & Standard field names

Being relatively new to both image metadata and XnviewMP, I was and still am overwhelmed by the number of standards involved. Over the past few years I have been trying to embed image metadata in at least some of the images I have collected as part of my genealogy research. During this time, I have ...

Re: UTF-8 issue under Mint 18.2

It was set to Locale for both Win 10 & Mint. But ... after doing more low level testing of the actual image files on the two machines, I have to check out some other issues with the software that backed up these files and that which unpacked them. For now at least, there is a difference in the files...

UTF-8 issue under Mint 18.2

As I am working with Gramps and image metadata a fair bit, I have just installed XnViewMP 0.86 under Mint 18.2 and have come across a curious issue, possibly related to UTF-8 & German Umlauts, perhaps not. I am attaching two screenshot and basically the issue is that, under Linux, in the categories ...

Re: Categories pane greyed out for files on USB stick

That's how it works when the file is on a hard drive, but not after I move the same directory to a thumb drive. As a test, I tried to write some data using Irfanview to the files on the thumb drive and it worked. I had verified that the read-only bit was NOT on and the second test with Irfanview con...
