Yes, but I changed the thumbnail from "same as catalog" to "User" specifically, and now seems to be working.

Dunno, don't think I changed it, but setting it to User made no difference.Why other files are in 'program folder', XnView can't save them

I can't paste or upload a screenshot :? It just puts the tags in when I click on the picture icon.
But I can tell you that my ini file is located and is set for User (System) as are catalog (XnView.db) and thumbnails database (thumb.db). Other files are set to the program folder.

I am using the free version of XnView MP (0.99.1 x64) but I cannot get favourites or layouts to save - is this a function of the paid version?
