Thanks, of course it works.
But, unfortunately, renaming with Replace/Regular Expression cannot be combined with converting.
My plan is to reduce the size and copy it to another directory with changed file names.
Ok, it works now, but with 2 steps.

Batch convert - rename fails
Hi,
I convert old photos and change the file name, which then, among other things, should contain the camera model ({EXIF:Model}).
But, the batch conversion fails if there are strange EXIF entries (see attached picture).

Enter rating deletes categories 0.93/OSX
Hi,
I have a RAW file (.ORF), plus a matching XMP file with categories, rating and color labels.
If a new rating or color label is set (right mouse button / menu), then the categories are deleted from the XMP file when saving (de-select).
This will clear the attributes xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc ...

Re: Companion files don't copy?
Hi,
I'll try to explain that more exactly.
I have for example 3 Files: "P001234.ORF", "P001234.ORF.DOP" and "P001234.XMP".
{raw} {ext}.xmp;xmp
{raw} {ext}.dop;dop
When i copy (or move) the primary file "P001234.ORF" with Drag&Drop or with the context menu with "Copy", then everything works fine ...

Re: Reduce to the max
Oh no, just this "Win-311 look" is very nice and effective.
Minimal window elements and maximum information, no overloaded design.
Everything is completely configurable.
Please leave it that way!

Re: 0.88: Renaming with variables generates spaces
ok, you're right, it's not a mistake.
Unfortunately, this is different for several tested cameras.
Other image viewers just cut the spaces, but I do not know what's right.
No matter, with "replace" can solve the problem.

0.88: Renaming with variables generates spaces
XnView MP: 0.88 - 32 bit
OS: Windows 8.1 / macOS Sierra / 64bit
Hi,
during (batch) renaming, spaces are created by certain variables.
This can be avoided if you replace a space with nothing.
Or is it wanted like that?

Thumbnail appearance
Hi,
There is a small difference in the thumbnail.
In XnViewMP, the lower overlay icons are outside of the image, in XnView inside (see screenshot).
The XnView display saves so much space, is that also possible in XnViewMP?

Hi,
