Maybe my words "Save as ... doesn't work" are mistakable.
It's better to say:
the "Save As - dialog window" doesn't appear

OS: Windows 10 - 64bit
To reproduce:
- modify a picture in ViewMode (for example: resize or crop)
- trying to save the modified picture with Save As ... (with toolbar-icon / or menue-item File/Save As... / or hitting ESC -> "Save changed file"-dialog ...

In Split dialog window in the upper part there's a prewiew of an image.
Right below the displayed picture there are two buttons - maybe for previewing of previous/next file.

Effect:
The splitted images will always be saved in the same folder like the original image.

Browser mode: "Create/File listing ..."
Output the fields {Comment} or {IPTC:Caption}
If one of the fields contains carriage return/line feed, then the result will be more than one line per picture.
Effect:
Output format: Text or CSV => the import ...
