Re: How do I resize to fit?
Dear Sablesword, If you say "resize my batch of photos fitting in a box of 200*200 pix" and using the menu "Tools / Batch convert" with an action "Longest side" to 200 pixel, then it works as you expect. But if you want to resize a specific image, then the meaning is different from a simple "fitting...

Re: Newbie Question: Can I select which folder XnViewMP looks at
Dear smksvt I am using the favorites feature for this. Then it is easier to navigate (BTW: now my wife can use it, otherwise she would be confused :D ) * navigate to a folder you prefer (e.g. C:\Shared Photos) * click on the star symbol above the thumbnail view, right of the path field * give it a n...

Re: Hotkey for 'Save'
Under Windows I am using <Ctrl>-S, which also is showing in the menu "File" and item "Save Ctrl-S".
And I am quite sure this is default behaviour and I haven't changed my settings for this.
Using XnView MP 0,89
Regards, Thomas

Re: Photo Rotates after Cropping
Dear AcGolfer, I have this too but only on my Mac in a specific situation when I have a landscape photo and crop it into a portrait dimension. * starting with a photo in landscape * start cropping mode and choose a 3:2 ratio * drag a small rectangle (it is in 3:2 landscape) * switch the selection re...

Mac: delete Folder in Thumbview does not disapear
Dear XnView team, it is not serious, but a little bit confusing. In the Browser view right clicking on a folder in the thumbnail view and using "Delete" shows the question dialog "are you sure". When I click "yes" it still is showing as a thumbnail. The workaround is to hit F5 (View / Refresh). The ...

Re: Favorites / Edit pathname then Cancel removes path
I tried the same on my Mac at home and there "Cancel" leaves the path untouched. So this is fine and seems only Windows version has this kind of bug.
Best regards
Thomas

Favorites does not show new folders?
Dear colleagues, I like the Favorites feature because it shows only my picture-centric part of my hard disk and hides unneeded folders. But a strange thing happens when I create a new folder with right click in thumbnail pane and using "New folder". The new folder exists in the thumbnail pane and I ...

Re: Export marked files in manual order
Dear Michel, thank you for your help. Yes, its a good idea. I will try it in 2 steps. After rearranging and selecting, I'll do a "batch rename" and then an export for my web site. Great. It's a fine product. Thank you. I used Picasa before, but it makes some trouble recently. I am happy with XnView ...

Export marked files in manual order
Dear colleagues, I am a beginner. Sorry for this question: In a folder I do some manual ordering per drag and drop. Then I select (mark) some of them and would like to export this selection into a new location for e.g. uploading into webspace. The best function I found is "Batch convert", which make...
