How to avoid thumbnail refreshing? Or wish: advanced caching. (DNG)

Hi, I have a directory where the DNG files of my panorama camera are saved. The files sizes are around 700MB or higher. If I come back to this directory and there are new files added to this directory, than the whole directory is scanned again and all previous created thumbnails are gone. The refres...

0.96.2 - Catalog - ... - Abort - Crash

Hi,

I tried to add some paths and tried to get the thumbnails cache later created. So I pressed "added folder" and during "building catalog entries" was started and running I pressed the "Abort" button. This cause a XnViewMP crash.

How to avoid the jumping preview?

Hi, my computer crashed and I need to use my old machine again. I installed the latest XnView MP and now I have the effect, if a new image is saved to the current directory, than the thumbnail preview jumps down to the end. In the past I haven't seen this effect. Is there an option which I have over...

Re: No automatic update of fresh saved images at the thumbnails

... and if I save the rendering as PNG than all saved channels are not shown at 8000x4000. Could it be that it depends on the file size?

Re: No automatic update of fresh saved images at the thumbnails

Hi Pierre, unfortunately it's not full working. Today I installed the latest full release but some files are still missing at the browser. Here an example - V-Ray saves multiple channels from a rendering, but the main passes aren't shown which should be image 163.jpg and 162.jpg like 161.jpg (this w...

Re: No automatic update of fresh saved images at the thumbnails

It doesn't depends on the images, it depends on how it is stored to the directory. I found a way to repeat it. * open two XnView MP tasks at different directories - task A and task B * at task A open the attached jpg image and use the "save as" menu function and save the image as PNG to the director...

Re: No automatic update of fresh saved images at the thumbnails

For example the standard "image" filter mode. If I save per latest V-Ray or Oloneo Photoengine than the thumbnails are not updated, if I save per Photoshop CS4 or Affinity Photo than the new saved file are shown at the thumbnails. I don't know why the output of some programs is ignored. Also some ti...

Re: No automatic update of fresh saved images at the thumbnails

I installed the latest beta yesterday and the problem still persist. I have a directory with thumbnails, but if I save a new file to this directory, than the new image isn't shown. I need to switch to an other directory and back to get the thumbnails updated. At XnView classic it was never an issue....

Re: Wish: Slideshow at image size

Right, sorry, I have overseen this option. Easy solution. :)

You could move the option to the fullscreen option, since both are working together. ;)

Re: No automatic update of fresh saved images at the thumbnails

I'm not sure it's the same issue. Here XnView shows the thumbnail images of a folder and If I save images to this folder per software like V-Ray than only a few or no new thumbnails of the fresh files are added. Forcing an update per F5 could be a good workaround. At the moment I need to jump to an ...

Re: Wish: Slideshow at image size

Did I wrote "stretch"? ;) At the last post I ask for to get following modes: (1) "fullscreen" - all is scaled to fullscreen (not possible yet) (2) "100%" - large images are shown in full screen and small images at 100% (this is the current fullscreen mode) (3) "fixed size" (this is current available...

Re: Wish: Slideshow at image size

Interesting for me - I never used the fullscreen option for images which are smaller than my display size. Today I found that the option "fullscreen" isn't fullscreen, it's a 100% mode for small images. I think it could be useful if "fullscreen" would scale all images to fullscreen and "100%" mode c...

Re: Wish: Slideshow at image size

Yes, it would match my need. :)

But if possible you could allow to use the current image size of each image. This would match my need too and would be more flexible. So, user could be sure that images are not enlarged and large blurry pixels are shown.
