It appears that if application is trying to associate itself with graphics files it will appear in the list of default programs. That's why the application for associating files with XnView MP shown there. And classic XnView is present on the list since the association mechanism is built in the prog...

Is it possible to put XnView MP in the list of programs for photos in Windows 10?
There's only "Associate files with XnViewMP.exe" as "Use this tool for associating your file-types with XnView MP" shown there.
