Try downscale to e.g. 1806x961 pixels. You can see the output image in the first post: download/file.php?id=5149&mode=view

Still reproducible in XnView: MP 1.3 (and also in XnResize, btw).

It's already installed. Maybe the AppImage was also built on Ubuntu 16.04?

The AppImage gives exactly the same error:

XnView doesn't run after upgrading from 0.92 to 0.93. The error is:
/opt/XnView/XnView: relocation error: /opt/XnView/lib/libQt5WebKit.so.5: symbol _ZTVNSt7__cxx1115basic_stringbufIcSt11char_traitsIcESaIcEEE, version GLIBCXX_3.4.21 not defined ...

The posterized image you see in my post is the downscaled version of the original. I don't see any artifacts on the original image:
