Do you use internally tools like ExifTool to change the IPTC settings?

See Attchaments: Text is not one line, instead a block. When scrolling to next image the text is fine in one line.

the information text on fullscreen has a wrong position (left middle and compressed) instead of my selected position (left down) BUT ONLY for the first picture, WHEN OPEN from the file browser. When I scroll to the next picture the position is a set.

Quicksearch has improved a lot.
But for the switch to another folder the search text will be reset.
In Thunderbird there is an option to keep the same search text when change the folder.
Please add a quicksearch option to not reset the text when between folders.

I run XnView MP Version 1.8.2 on Kubuntu 24.04.1

When I do a JPEG losless operation (cut or rotate) OR when I change IPTC data the rights (from the system side) to my file (picture) have been changed:

Before: 666 (which means beside of the owner and group the "other users" have the right to ...

I know the setting, but it should not influence the lossless - otherwise it would be the wrong name :-) - but to make sure I checked with a much lower save quality setting and it has no result on the described difference. Normal rotation and save is done with this setting, I approved.

Can anyone ...

Is it normal that the file size is smaller after doing a lossless rotation?

The original file has 5262 KB, after only 4308 KB.

I notice in the EXIF a different Sub-sampling, but a better one in the rotated file. From 2x1, 1x1, 1x1 --> 1x1, 1x1, 1x1

I also like the idea of the "if" function. Could use it for the focal length in 35mm which is not available in all pictures.

The general wish I have is so extend the SAVE function to the other fields like color, position, titel.... At the moment only the information is saved.

is there a way to navigate between the folder and the picture frame by keys?
RETURN doesn't do anything, TAB switches to different.

Maybe is there a comand (cmd_) in the setup for Key-Shortcuts?

If not this would be wish for improvement.

Browsing through the folders by arrow-keys works fine ...

I also found it not logic to browse in view mode through all pictures instead only the filtered list.
