I tried both "copy" and "copy image content", and both are not working for GIMP.

Idk, maybe it's best to just forget about this. If you can't replicate the bug (in GIMP!), there is no way fixing it. But thanks for looking into it!

Strange that the bug doesn't happen on your PC.

To reproduce:

A) Open any image, select part or all of the image and copy image data.
Paste as new image in GIMP (2.10.38).
=> GIMP shows an error message saying that there is no image data in the clipboard.

B) Now, close XnView MP, and paste as new ...

Should I report this as a new bug for it to gain attention? This should be rather easy to fix.

This is still a problem in v1.8.2 (on Windows).

It's probably caused by "MP version does not complete the output stream when it saves an image to the clipboard":

It would be great if files with different filenames could be regarded as companion files. Imagine a camera's original filename with added information that differs for the raw file and the JPG, like a CRC32 "P8010029 [7E8FC609].JPG" and "P8010029 [0FC35B78].ORF" or "P8010029 published.JPG" and ...

Just wanted to confirm arngard's observation. After copying image data (in the browser or the viewer), I can only successfully paste the image data into Gimp after closing XnView MP.

I tested with XnView MP v1.7.2 x64 and Gimp 2.10.38

Right now, the Info pane has a fixed, user adjustable width. When the XnView MP window is resized horizontally, XnView MP will try to keep the Info pane at its current width, and only resize the Data pane.

It would be very helpful if the Data pane could be set to a fixed size. E.g. with "Layout 2 ...

I just updated to XnView MP Windows v0.95 64bits (Jan 15 2020) and still get this error when I try to paste image data into GIMP v2.10.14. My OS is Windows 10 Pro v1909. The 32bits version of XnView MP didn't work either.
