Ok, i clean installed windows 10 1809 (x64) on my main pc (can you believe i did all this just for xnview shell!) :shock: :)
strangely it still did not work. then i deleted the registry key and right clicked again - this time the menu worked. however it is not consistent: If i R-click on a JPG ...

I just tried in a brand new installation in virtualbox (Win10 1809 RS5 october update).
as a try i just unpacked the zip to the desktop, run the register.bat and tried rotating an image - it worked.
when i tried previously (1709), i could not get the register.bat to work - with an error message ...

yes, clean install - it's the x64 version (1709 rs3) - i have all the .net and run times installed too.

I have used the shell extension back in xp and win7 with success - but nothing I tried gets it to work on Win10 (1709).
I've tried all sorts (I know my way around windows) - including latest version, MS runtimes, admin, ownership ...
