Re: Apply Keywords From Toolbar?

Is there no such thing as i.e. a macro or something similar? It's really a lot of steps to be able to tag photos :(

Re: Apply Keywords From Toolbar?

Correct. On an already small screen, browser mode eats up lots of valuable space, which makes it much harder to see details of the pics when I'm going thru & tagging.

Re: Apply Keywords From Toolbar?

I don't see either an "open last opened tab" option, nor a "write" button. Screenshot: https://lnk2.tk/snaps/2020-01-21_00.36.12.png. Note: I'm doing this from the single-photo view mode, not browser mode. (I believe categories pane would also only apply to the browser mode - I'm on a laptop with a ...

Apply Keywords From Toolbar?

Is there a way to add a button to the toolbar that will apply a predefined keyword to the current photo, & save? Currently the quickest way I found is: 1) Ctrl+i 2) Switch to the "Keywords" tab in the dialog 3) Add the keyword 4) Apply 5) Ctrl+S to save That gets a bit labor intensive when tagging a...

XnView HEIF Plugin - No Metadata

The XnView HEIF plugin (obtained from https://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=36661) works great for displaying photos taken on new iPhones - but it seems to omit any sort of metadata; it isn't displayed, nor is it embedded in JPGs when doing batch convert. The image metadata can be shown by Ex...

Re: Pressing ESC Once Quits (despite setting)

Sorry, I don't understand the question - under Tools -> Settings -> General, I don't see any instance of the word "Mode".

Re: Pressing ESC Once Quits (despite setting)

If the option is set to allow ESC to quit, then it makes sense that it would quit;
If the option is set not to allow ESC to quit, it should just do nothing (aka leave the last tab/viewed-image open). This is how the similar option behaves in IrfanView, for instance.

Re: Has keywords thumbnail overlay icon not working

Oh...a bit ambiguous naming then. Especially since those other overlays all refer to standard metadata values (i.e. gps, rotation, etc) - I'd suspect many people might think "keywords" refer to the standard IPTC keywords used by most imaging software ;)

Re: 0.93.1 EXIF Rotation Not Updating Timestamp

Addendum: in the case of the view mode, as mentioned, it is updating the timestamp. However, on closer examination, it's not actually always rotating by just setting the exif flag - sometimes it's still transposing the x,y pixels, contrary to the setting (verified by using BeyondCompare to diff the ...

Re: Description of Options?

Where can I find the documentation on what each option/setting actually does? Sorry but there is no documentation Bummer. Those 3 were just a few specific examples - there were quite a few more that weren't entirely clear just from their titles. But I guess without any docs, I'll give up trying to ...

Inconsistent Behavior For Nonstandard File Extension

XnView MP 0.93.1 64-bit for Windows. 1) Take a folder with a few jpgs, & rename their extensions to something else - i.e. .xxx. 2) Launch XnView MP (browser mode), & navigate to the directory. It's able to recognize the jpg image data & display them (metadata, preview, etc) 3) Switch to view mode (i...

Description of Options?

Hi, New user here; I was looking through the options in XnViewMP (0.93.1), & there are quite a few that I'm not exactly clear on what they do - and despite quite a bit of searching I've been unable to figure out where all the options are actually documented. I did find this thread (https://newsgroup...

Has keywords thumbnail overlay icon not working

XnView MP 0.93.1 x64 on Windows. Settings->Thumbnail->Overlay Icons->Has keywords is checked, but thumbnails with keywords are not showing any overlay. Other overlays (i.e. automatic rotation, embedded thumbnail, etc) are shown - Has keywords seems to be the only one that's not working. Screenshot: ...

Re: GPS suggestions

I know this is a very old thread - but +1 for "show location of multiple files." I found this old suggestion when searching for a way to do just that - which I don't think is possible still :)
