1. Delete all the .ini files
2. Create a folder with one jpg in it
3. Double-click the jpg to launch XnViewMP
4. On launch, it shows the startup wizard. Just click OK.
5. Double-click the image to show the browser

Glad to see there's a config option to revert this buggy-looking behavior. Can't even conceive of why this would be intentional...

I reported this as a bug too, here: https://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?p=203068#p203068

Regression since 1.7.2: Prompt for save on exit when nothing was edited
New bug since updating from 1.7.2 to 1.8.3 on Windows. If I:
* Double-click a jpg in Windows Explorer (to launch XnView)
* Double-click to the photo viewer to switch to "Browse" mode
* Select All (in XnView Browser)
* Cut
* Paste to another folder in Windows Explorer
* Quit XnView

Re: Continues Scrolling Photos Well After Releasing Keyboard Key (Linux Only)
Fixed, *if* you edit xnview.ini & set delayedNav=true in the [Viewer] section. By default (i.e. without adding that to the config), the issue will remain.

Re: Can't delete folder after viewing without quitting entirely
There is indeed this problem.
When video preview is turned on, and then you click on a folder, it automatically plays the videos in it while opening the folder.
At this point, there is no way to delete them, either the folder, or the videos.
To be precise, I can't find any way to delete the ...

Re: Can't delete folder after viewing without quitting entirely
Well, clearly it's more widespread than just me - so it's indeed a real issue: https://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=44011&start=15
(In any event, less severe IMO than the Linux issue that I've been reporting for over 4 years (https://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=40701 ...

Re: Continues Scrolling Photos Well After Releasing Keyboard Key (Linux Only)
The fix did make it infinitely more usable than what we have now - perhaps not perfect, but certainly better than just leaving it as-is. Given it's been so hard to get replies over the past 4 years, I'd be happy to move on with just that.

Yeah, Windows 10.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "image tab" (there's no tab titled "Image")
Here's a video showing the behavior: https://jiij.cc/snaps/2024-07-12_15.39.32.mp4

Re: Continues Scrolling Photos Well After Releasing Keyboard Key (Linux Only)
Seems like you had a fix, but it wasn't included in the actual releases (just the test build u sent me directly). Then you stopped responding to DMs in February (I followed up in March & June, both with no reply).

Can't delete folder after viewing without quitting entirely
Anytime I view photos with XnView MP, it seems to "lock" the containing folder (on Windows), preventing the folder from being deleted. It remains locked even after I navigate out of it in XnView's browser - I have to completely quit XnView in order to be able to delete it.
